Job Summary
Orbital Engineering is seeking a Substation Drafter / CAD Technician I for a full-time hybrid position. This role involves developing substation design packages, performing drafting work using CAD and MicroStation software, and collaborating with engineers on utility projects. Candidates should have at least an associate degree in drafting or relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in computer aided drafting or high school diploma and at least one year of drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
- 1+ years of related experience
- Proficient with current computer applications including CAD systems and/or MicroStation, Microsoft applications, design and business enterprise software
- Knowledge of drafting standards, techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize multiple complex assignments and competing priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in creating and reviewing substation design drawings
- Education or experience with 3D drafting software
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams
- Proficiency with the manipulation of vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and MicroStation
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations
- Subject to random testing as continued employment condition
